Florida's
Comprehensive Assessment Test - The primary purpose of
the FCAT is to assess student achievement of the high-order cognitive
skills represented in the Sunshine State Standards (SSS) in Reading,
Writing, Mathematics, and Science. The SSS portion of FCAT is a
criterion-referenced test. A secondary purpose is to compare the
performance of Florida students to the Reading and Mathematics performance
of students across the nation using a norm-referenced test (NRT).

data are summarized at the school, school system, and state level
and in most instances are disaggregated (when available) by different
student groupings. These groupings are based on race/ethnicity,
gender, disability, and English proficiency, economic, and migrant

Index (API) measures the academic performance and progress of individual
schools and establishes growth targets for future academic improvement.
It is a numeric index (or scale) that ranges from a low of 200 to
a high of 1000. A school' score or placement on the API is an indicator
of a school's performance level. The interim statewide API performance
target for all schools is 800. A school's growth is measured by
how well it is moving toward or past that goal.

School Performance Report - The Wisconsin School Performance
Report (SPR) was created in 1991 with the passage of State Statute
115.38. It serves as the state's annual public school report card,
and represents the department's most comprehensive resource for
