The FSEOG is a federal grant available
to students who demonstrate exceptional financial
need. The awarded amount is determined by the school,
with priority given to students who receive the
Pell Grant.
Eligibility
- Student must be a citizen or permanent resident
of the United States. Student must be enrolled in
a post-secondary institution as either a full or
part-time undergraduate student.
Maximum Allowed
– The maximum that a student can receive per
school year is $4,000.
Minimum Allowed
– The minimum that a student can receive per
school year is $100.
Disbursement –
Similar to a Pell Grant, the school you attend will
inform you in writing of how much and when you will
get paid. The school will disburse the award either
by crediting your account, writing a check, or a
combination of the two. Schools are required to
pay you at least twice per academic year; most schools
pay at the beginning of each semester or trimester.
